Official UP art gets released on the day the movie is released! what a novel and lovely idea! cool balloons! (that's the UP version of cool beans..)
June 19, 2009
So there are two kinds of art in the official release for the movie UP, there are images based on the style guide, drawn by Eric Tan, and for the first time, signed by the artist, which is great because the prices are still really reachable (as per the 16 year old who put one on layaway!), and there are images based on concept art, much of which you can see in the book "the art of UP", which is predictably lovely, as is the movie if you haven't seen it--

The most popular pieces are the DUG image and the concept piece that has a decidedly Mary Blair vibe--those are selling really well, and as you'd imagine, the sales are brisk because finally the timing of the release is perfect!  Thumbs up, as it were, to Disney, for having it together!
